Oral Surgery Services
If oral surgery is necessary, we’ll develop an individual plan to address your specific dental issue. We’ll go over what will happen during the procedure, discuss before and after-care, and provide you with helpful tips for overcoming dental anxieties, which may include simple things such as a blanket and neck pillow, or more extensive comforts like conscious sedation.

IV and Conscious Sedation
We understand that more involved dental procedures can cause anxiety. While you are in very capable hands with our skilled dentists, if you are feeling extremely nervous, please know that we offer sedation options. An intravenous sedative induces you into a state of deep relaxation. While you do remain conscious, you may not have clear memories of the procedure. Many patients find conscious sedation to be very helpful.
Tooth Extractions
Even with excellent oral hygiene, sometimes a tooth cannot be saved. If you need to have a tooth removed, we’ll explain the procedure in advance, so you know what to expect.
A simple extraction is used when the tooth is visible above the gum line. Generally, you will be given local anesthesia, like what’s used when you have a cavity filled.
A surgical extraction is used if there is a problem below the gum, like an impacted tooth. For this procedure, you will be sedated.
Dental Implants
For some patients, a simple bridge and dentures may not be possible due to sore spots, poor ridges, and even gagging. Dental implants can be a great solution for those who are missing teeth and find discomfort in crowns and bridges.
Dental implants are metal posts or frames that are surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath your gum, providing a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth. Once in place, the replacement teeth can be mounted to the anchor, making the tooth sturdier and more durable.
Root Canals
If you’re starting to experience pain at the base of your tooth, a root canal treatment may be needed. The treatment relieves dental pain and alleviates inflammation and infection at the root of your tooth. Root canal treatment is highly successful, and many teeth treated with a root canal can last a lifetime.
Infections can be caused by deep decay, repeated dental procedures on a tooth, and/or large fillings, a crack or chip in the tooth, or trauma to the face. When the infection spreads past the ends of the roots of the tooth, an abscess can occur and cause bone loss, swelling, and draining problems which is why a root canal may be necessary.
A root canal is completed in one or more office visits and sedation is offered to help you relax while we operate.
